Clash Detection Dialog, Results Tab

Contains controls to shows the details of each clash. Results display automatically when a job is processed. Column headings can be turned on or off and manipulated to show the most pertinent information. Previous Clash and Next Clash buttons allow you to navigate through the list of clashes or you can click on the clash you want to view. You can also expand group panels to display element information.

You can group clashes together to make it easier to review them. You can also markup clashes that need follow-up.

In the view window, displays the previous clash.

Create Clash Markup


Allows you to create a markup. When you select a clash and then the Create Markup tool, a placemark is positioned automatically at the intersection of the two clashing objects. The clash is recorded in the Markups dialog (Review > Markup > Markups Dialog). The tool is disabled if more than one clash is selected in the Results list box.

Preview


(Only available if a markup is created) When you select a clash and click this icon, the Markup Preview window opens and displays the clash and markup information.
Show Element A


In the clash selected, displays Element A in red in the view window.

Show Element B


In the clash selected, displays Element B in blue in the view window.

Display Options Drop-down menu lets you set the display options for the clashes, surroundings and background.


Shows the clashes, surroundings, and background. (Same as the Clash Background display style.)


Shows the clashes and surroundings; hides the background. (Same as the Clash Surroundings display style.)


Shows the clashes only; hides the surroundings and background. (Same as the Clash Elements display style.)

Up One Level


In the All Jobs list box, moves up one directory from your current location.
Create a New Group
Creates a new empty group to which you can add clashes.

Delete a Group


Deletes the selected group but does not delete the clashes included in that group. The clashes return to the list on the Results tab.

Results List Box Displays a list of all clashes.

Right-clicking the header row and selecting Show Columns opens a popup menu of all available columns. Clicking More on the popup menu opens the Show Properties Dialog which allows you to turn on or off columns, reorder the columns, show/hide columns, turn on or off all columns and to set the width of the selected column.

  • Status Image — Icon indicates the current status of the clash and whether the clash is included in a group or is a single clash incident.

  • Name — Displays the name of the clash or the group name of the collection of clashes. Sequentially named, assigned by date with the earliest date numbered first. Automatically named Clash0001, Clash0002, or Group1, Group2, and so on. A group within a group is named Group1.1, Group1.2.
  • Description — Gives a description of the clash.
  • Status — Double-click the field to open a drop-down menu for options regarding the status of the clash: Old, Assigned, Accepted, Follow up and New. If you run the same clash detection job multiple times and the clash was reported previously, the Status column automatically marks the clash as Old, to distinguish it from any new clashes detected on the current clash detection operation.
  • Assigned To — Double-click the field to make it editable so you can type the name of the person or department who will be assigned to work on this clash. If you select a clash and add a markup to it, the Status field changes to Assigned.
  • Assigned By — Once a markup is added, this field is populated automatically by the person who created the markup.
  • Assigned On — Once a markup is added, this field is populated automatically by the date the markup was created.
  • Accepted By — Updates to show the name of the person who changed the Status of the clash to Accepted.
  • Accepted On — Displays the date and time the Status of the clash was changed to Accepted.
  • Resolved On — Date the clash was resolved.
  • Markup Name — Name of markups associated with the clash.
  • Type — Displays whether it is a hard clash or clearance clash.
  • Clearance — Displays the amount of clearance.
  • Found By — User who ran the clash detection and found the clash.
  • Found On — Date and time that the clash was found.
  • Element ID A — Displays the ID number of Element A.
  • Element ID B — Displays the ID number of Element B.
  • Element Label A — Displays the name or label of Element A.
  • Element Label B — Displays the name or label of Element B.
  • Location — Longitude, latitude, and elevation of the clash location.
Right-Click Menus Right-clicking the header row opens the following menu:
  • Sort Ascending — Sorts the column data in ascending order.
  • Sort Descending — Sorts the column data in descending order.
  • Custom Sorting — Opens the Select Sort Order dialog, which allows you customize the sorting order.
  • Show Columns — Displays all possible columns that you can turn on or off.
  • Show Columns > More opens the Show Properties dialog, which allows you to change the order of columns, hide or show columns, and specify the column width.
  • Freeze This Column — Freezes the column in the current state. When you freeze a column, all the columns to the left also are frozen.
  • Unfreeze All Columns — Undoes a Freeze This Column operation.
  • Show Filters — Displays a filter row at the top of each column, under the header row. Clicking on the Filter icon opens options for filtering. Each column displays different expression types depending on the type of information in the column.
  • Clear Filters — Hides the filter row.
  • Find — Opens the Find and Replace dialog, which allows you to search all the text in the Results list box.

Right-clicking the clash opens a menu with the following items:

  • Create Markup — Same as clicking the Create Markup icon.
  • View Markup — Same as clicking the Preview icon.
  • Create Group > New Empty Group — Creates an empty group in which you can add clashes.
  • Create Group > From Selection — Creates a group from the selected clashes.
  • Create Group > From Clashes on Element A — Creates a group from clashes on Element A.
  • Create Group > From Clashes on Element B — Creates a group from clashes on Element B.
  • Create Group > From Clashes on Element A and B — Creates a group from clashes on Element A and Element B.
  • Add to Selection Set — The clashing elements are added to the selection set.
  • Show Element A — Same as clicking the Show Element A icon.
  • Show Element B — Same as clicking the Show Element B icon.
  • Toggle Others — Same as clicking the Show Others icon.
  • Delete Group(s) — (only available if a group is selected) Removes the selected group.
  • Edit — If the cell value is editable, opens the Edit Property Value dialog, which allows you to change the selected field.
  • Find — Opens the Find and Replace dialog, which allows you to search all the text in the Results list box.
  • Replace — Opens the Find and Replace dialog, which allows you to search all the text in the Results list box and replace some or all instances of text with other text.
  • Copy — Copies the selection to the clipboard.
  • Paste — Pastes the contents of the Clipboard to the design.
  • Paste Special — Pastes the contents of the Clipboard to the design using a special display format.
Element Information Displays the properties of the two clashing elements. Information for elements is specified by the red Element Info A heading and the blue Element Info B heading.
